How to set a node as default front page

Note:Changing the default front page is the same in Drupal 5.x and Drupal 6.x.

Replace http://www.example.com with your website url

1. Login to your drupal site http://www.example.com/user
2. Navigate directly to:
   • http://www.example.com/admin/settings/site-information

   or

   • if not using clean urls http://www.example.com/?q=admin/settings/site-information

or

3. From your navigation menu click on Administer
4. From your navigation menu click on Site Configuration
5. From your navigation menu click on Site Information
6. Under Default front page:(at the bottom of the form) enter the path to the node you want as the front page.
   • Do not include http://www.example.com
   • This can be of the form node/23 or portfolio
7. Click Save Configuration
8. Go to http://www.example.com to verify that your page is on the front
